| 1. Strategic de-worming of cattle includes
an in-feed treatment during the middle of the summer. We estimate a complete
de-worming program for a cow should run no more than $7 each year.
2. We saw an increase in Anaplasmosis in the practice last year. If you are not treating your cow-herd for the prevention of this disease you need to start as soon as possible. 3. There are several procedures for synchronizing the estrus cycle of heifers and cows, and research is showing better results using newer or combination methods than we've seen with more traditional techniques. Call us to discuss advances made in this area of reproduction. |
1. Horses of all ages need to have their
teeth checked at least once a year. Perhaps the best time to start a dental
program would be in the fall to insure that the horse has optimum chewing
ability prior to entering the winter season.
2. De-worming programs for horses need not be expensive to be effective. Often times a feed based program can be performed several times for less money that a tube de-worming or those products delivered in a syringe. 3. Rabies is an important infectious disease of horses in Northeast Oklahoma. Just as surely as dogs and cats need annual vaccinations against Rabies, horses also need an annual vaccination as there exposure to rabid animals (predominantly skunks) is greater than other domestic animals. |
